What Pets Understand About Us That Humans Don’t?
There is a type of intelligence that exists, a type that can be found in the ways that pets interact with us. This type of intelligence is not spoken, nor is it learned, nor is it based on the ways that people react around us. There is something much deeper that exists with the ways that pets interact with people compared to the ways that people interact with people.

People react based on the ways that we talk, the ways that we explain things, and the ways that we contextualize our actions. However, pets react based on the ways that we are, before the ways that we act. You can say to your friend, “I’m fine,” and your voice can be steady, your shoulders can be up straight, and your actions can be confident. Your friend can be fooled by the ways that you act, but your pet can sense the tension that exists in your shoulders, the slower movements that your body makes, and the changes that occur in your breathing patterns.

The interesting thing, however, is that pets do not compare. Humans compare careers, humans compare relationships, humans compare achievements, and humans compare looks. This comparison, for humans, defines how we perceive other humans, often unconsciously. Pets, however, do not compare your worth with anything outside of themselves. To them, you are not your salary, your failures, or your social status.
