Dog breeds that don’t always enjoy walk time
Most people believe that all dogs love to take a walk, but not all dogs do. Experts say that the interest in taking a walk by a dog depends on its energy level, type, health, and personality. Some breeds, for example, may not like to take a walk because they are lap dogs. The following are some breeds that may not be very keen on taking a walk.

Bulldog

Bulldogs, for example, are known for their calm and laid-back lifestyle. They get tired easily, especially on a hot day, because they are heavy and have a short nose. They like short walks and not long walks.

Pug

Pugs enjoy the company of their owners, but they aren't too sporty. Their flat face makes breathing more difficult, which causes them to get tired easily. They can't handle long walks because of this. Short walks for this breed would be sufficient.

Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu was not developed as a working dog, but as a companion. They enjoy staying indoors and being close to their owners. Even though they still need a walk, they might not enjoy a long walk as much as they should.

Chow Chow

The Chow Chow is a breed known for being independent and quiet. Unlike other playful dog breeds, they might not enjoy going for long walks. They would rather go for a short walk and stay indoors.

Basset Hound

Basset Hounds appear to be energetic dogs, but they are actually quite lazy at times. Due to their long body structure and short legs, it is possible they do not enjoy long walks. They enjoy short walks while sniffing around.

French Bulldog

French Bulldogs are playful dogs but tend to get tired easily. Due to their structure, it is uncomfortable for them to engage in long walks or any energetic activities. They enjoy short walks but tend to avoid them at times if the weather is hot or the walk is long.

Pekingese

Pekingese dogs are meant for royal homes as pets. They are not energetic dogs and tend to relax at home. They require a short walk to keep them healthy.

Great Dane

Despite the size of the Great Dane, it is actually a calm animal. Although it needs exercise, it is not as active as many think. Therefore, long walks can actually tire it out, and it will generally prefer moderate exercise.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This type of dog prefers the company of its owner more than running around outside. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels prefer long walks, but sometimes they may not show enthusiasm for long walks. They prefer company close to them.

Saint Bernard

The Saint Bernard is a big dog with a calm personality. Because of their size, they get tired easily and may not prefer long walks. Short and slow walks are better for them.
