Two Labradors battle for dad’s lap in viral video, internet can’t stop laughing

A funny little video of two Labradors fighting over their dad’s lap is doing the rounds on Instagram, and people can’t get enough of it. It’s one of those clips you watch once and then replay because the chaos is just too good.

Shared by the page @remi_and_walter, the video features two English Labrador Retrievers named Remi and Walter. The goal? Simple. Both of them want the same prized spot - dad’s lap. What starts as a calm moment on the sofa quickly turns into a full-on cuddle competition the second their owner sits down to relax.

Both dogs try to squeeze onto him at the same time. One sprawls right across his legs, while the other nudges in from the side, inch by inch, refusing to give up. There’s dramatic grumbling, a lot of side-eye, and some very serious nudging involved. At one point, one of the dogs even stretches a paw across dad like he’s marking his territory - only to get gently pushed away by the other’s nose.

Through all this, dad stays weirdly calm, playing referee without saying a word. He just places a hand on each of them, clearly accepting that personal space is no longer part of his life. Both dogs, of course, seem convinced that they are the chosen one.

The caption says this isn’t even their first lap war. Apparently, Remi and Walter have been caught fighting over dad’s attention before, and this is just the latest round. The comments section is pure gold. Some people joked that it looked like a wildlife documentary. Others warned dad to protect himself from the “paw attacks.” One comment pretty much summed it up: “He just needs a bigger lap.”

There’s no real winner in the end. Neither Remi nor Walter backs down, and they both end up piled on top of their poor human. For viewers, it’s the perfect mix of cute and chaotic. For dad, it’s just another day of being aggressively loved - fur, paws, and all.
