One Tree, Hundreds of Parrots, And Suddenly Everyone Looked Up

A girl points at a tree and says, “So many parrots,” and at first you don’t see anything. Just a dry tree, branches, night sky. Then the camera zooms in and suddenly the tree starts making sense. Every branch is full. Not leaves. Not fruits. Parrots. Dozens of them. Maybe hundreds. Sitting so still that the tree looks like it has grown green feathers.

This video was shared on NDTV’s Instagram page, and people in the comments were both amazed and completely unbothered at the same time. Some said they see this every day in Udaipur. Someone said it might be near Ratlam railway station. Someone else said this is what mornings sound like in their town. And then there were people who said, “Enjoy it now, someday someone will cut the tree.”

And that comment kind of changes the way you see the whole video.

Because this is not just a “wow parrots” video.

This is actually an everyday tale on how animals live amongst us without any of us noticing it.

Parrots, especially rose-ringed parakeets, actually roost in large groups at night. They choose a huge tree and then gather together after sunset. Not randomly. They choose places near food, water, markets, railway stations, fruit stalls, farms. Basically, near humans. We think cities belong to us, but birds have quietly adjusted their lives around our chaos.

Think about it.

In the morning, that tree will look normal again. Empty. Dry. Boring. People will walk past it, vehicles honking, trains on the rails, someone will probably stand under that same tree for a second for some shade. Nobody will know that a few hours earlier, that tree was louder than a classroom and greener than a forest.

We always think nature is somewhere far away. Mountains. Forests. Wildlife reserves. But sometimes nature is literally sitting above our heads on a railway station road and we don’t even notice.

What’s funny is, the parrots probably don’t find this special at all.

For them, this is just home. Just another night. Just another tree.

It’s only humans who stop, stare, record, and say, “This is unbelievable.”

Maybe the real story is not that there were hundreds of parrots on one tree.

Maybe the real story is that we were surprised.

Because it tells you one simple thing.

Nature hasn’t disappeared.

We just stopped looking up.
