Keeping snakes as pets is a fascinating, unique and exotic interest as they are living pieces of nature that do not behave and exist as common pets. These reptiles are wild in nature which means keeping them as pets would need caring, maintaining and following their wild needs, diet and environment. Owning them isn’t common and very few people have this hobby, which includes a small number of celebrities too. Michael Jackson, the king of pop had deep love for animals and even owned his own collection of wild animals at his neverland ranch. He famously owned a Boa constrictor named ‘Muscles’ who was often seen with Michael in photos, videos, during recording sessions of the album ‘Bad’ and even on the sets of ‘Leave me alone’ video. He also owned an albino Burmese python named ‘Madonna’, later renamed ‘Sunshine’ who now resides at children’s nature center after Jackson’s passing. Michael believed snakes were misunderstood animals and were the oldest victims of bad press.



Oscar winning famous legend, Nicholas Cage owned two venomous albino king cobras named Moby(male), Sheba(female) and a rare two headed snake. Cage kept the two cobras in a bulletproof closure with antivenom on hand, acknowledging the fatality in case of a bite and later donated the snakes to a zoo due to neighbouring concerns. He also donated the two headed snake to the zoo as he experienced keeping it was too freaky, the both heads used to fight over food making him separate them using a spatula.




The lead guitarist of famous band ‘Guns N’ Roses’ always had a passion for snakes and reptiles from a very young age, owning a large collection of around 90 reptiles and more. Most notable were- ‘Pandora and Jacob’, two boa constrictors, pandora even appearing in famous music video ‘Patience’, ‘Clyde and Sam’, A pair of anacondas and ‘Adrianna’, a Burmese python.




The ‘Nashville’ famed star is also an animal activist who owns a number of corn snakes, including one named ‘louis’. She also shares her pet snakes photos through her social media handle.


Justin Bieber, a famous pop singer briefly owned a baby albino boa constrictor named ‘Johnson’, whom he even brought to the MTV Music Awards 2011. The singer later auctioned the snake for charity.
