They say dogs can sense what humans can’t, and that added uniqueness helped in saving someone’s life! What exactly happened, you ask? Well, it seemed like a regular morning, a Virginia-based man named Dan DiCandilo was walking his dog, Gozier. Everything seemed like a routine until Dan’s trusted and beloved dog, Gozier, started barking. She was actually trying to alert his owner and wake a woman who was lying unconscious.

“We walk five miles a day, every day, and we’ve been doing that for nine years. Gozier is the child we’ve never had,” Dan told WWBT as he recently spoke about how normal the day started.

As he continued, he explained how things took a different turn unexpectedly. He added, “We were about halfway up Henry Clay heading toward the tracks, as we call it here in Ashland, and she started barking wildly at a house that we pass every single day. The bark had a little cry to it. It was different. It wasn’t a bark I had heard from her before.”

Reportedly, a woman was unconscious on the front lawn of a yard, and the dog was trying to wake her up. Dan called 911 without wasting a minute. He also spoke to the homeowner, who revealed the woman didn’t live there. Further, she was lying there unconscious for around 3 hours, and the reason why nobody noticed was because of what she was wearing.

“It was a woman who was on her back in a white robe, which camouflaged her and made it impossible to see from the road,” DiCandilo said before adding, “She had no hat. She had no gloves. She had no shoes.”

He explained further, “Phone camera on the neighbor’s door showed her crawling on his front lawn at 4:15 in the morning, so we walked by at 7:15, 15-degree temperature, she had been out there for three hours.”

According to Dan’s words, the woman spent a week in the ICU, “her body temperature was 78 degrees, and somehow survived.”

Last but not least, as a proud pet parent, Dan mentioned, “Dogs are special. They have that sense that we don’t have, and obviously, that was well displayed that morning. It’s like a proud father. That’s my little girl.”
