Russell Wilson Mourns the Demise of Dog Naomi: ‘Thank You For Over 12 Years Of Cuddles, Kisses, and Loyalty’
They say time heals every wound, but when it comes to the loss of someone dear, that pain doesn’t go away easily. Thus, with profound grief, football quarterback Russell Wilson recently shared a post, mourning the demise of his Dalmatian, Naomi.
Russell Wilson gives his pet Naomi
On Friday, the New York Giants quarterback shared the sad news of his Dalmatian, Naomi’s passing. In her memory, he shared two pictures with an emotional note that touched hearts. The first picture features Russell Wilson, all smiles with Naomi by his side, and the second has the beloved pooch cuddled up with another furry pal, Prince. For the unversed, Prince was also Dalmation, who passed away a year ago. According to Wilson, Prince was Naomi’s “soulmate.”
Coming to the heartfelt note, Russell wrote, “Our sweet Naomi, Thank you for over 12 years of cuddles, kisses, and loyalty. You brought so much love to our family and gave us so many happy memories.”
“You’re back with your soulmate Prince now in Doggy Heaven! We Love you always,” he concluded.
When Russell Wilson lost Prince
Sadly, around the same time, last year, Wilson lost Prince. The Dalmation fought with cancer for years before breathing his last in January 2025. While paying tribute to his beloved pal, Wilson, in a social media post wrote, "A blessing to our family with so many memories, hugs and kisses from our 4 kids and us."
He continued, "You will forever be a part of us. Today was a hard day. But you overcame cancer 2x and lived 12 years when most live 6. Heaven got a good one! Forever the Prince of Peace. Love you."
Russell Wilson’s sweet words for his beloved pets
In a 2019 interview with PEOPLE, Russell Wilson got candid about his dogs and shared, “The great Danes just want to lie on your lap all the time.” He added, “Ciara (his wife) and I will be trying to have a date night, watching a movie, and all of a sudden there are three great Danes laying across our laps.”
