Meet Chris Evans Beloved Dog Dogger
Not all superheroes wear a cape; some just walk with their furry companions. One of them is Hollywood’s Captain America, a.k.a Chris Evans, who adopted his beloved dog Dogger in 2016. Since then, he has been a proud dog dad who loves spending quality time with his pooch.
Chris adopted Dogger in 2016. In an Instagram post, he wrote, "I was filming a movie in Savannah, and the scene took place at a shelter. I had no intention of rescuing a dog that day, but the minute I saw him, I knew he was coming home with me."
Recalling the day he first laid eyes on Dogger, Evans added, "There are so many loving animals at shelters who are in desperate need of a home.”
“Visit a shelter and leave with a best friend," he advocated.
In 2022, while speaking with PEOPLE, he further narrated his meet-cute with Dogger. He narrated, "One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel. I foolishly walked in, and I thought, 'Are these actor dogs, or are these real up-for-adoption dogs?' And sure enough, they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude, and he didn't belong there."
The actor shared that he quickly snagged him and felt that he was such a good dog. Dogger was about one back then, and was full of puppy energy. Evans described him as a sweetheart and a dog full of love.
He could hardly control himself from singing his praises and mentioned, "I'm probably biased, but I would say that Dodger is a cut above the average dog."
He added that Dogger is a very happy dog, and everyone who comes around him could feel the wave of contentment.
