Something similar happened with a family in London, Kentucky, whose dog was missing for several days. However, all thanks to their vigilant neighbours, the dog was rescued after a couple of days and reunited with the family.
According to People, emergency responders in Kentucky rescued a dog that had been trapped in a storm drain. The London-Laurel County 911 Center got a call in the early hours of the day about a dog stuck inside a storm drain. As per the rescue squad, they were notified around 8 in the morning, and they didn’t waste a min and responded quickly.
“At approximately 8 a.m. this morning, London-Laurel County 911 Center notified units of a dog that was trapped in a storm drain,” read the Facebook post of the rescue squad. London City Fire Department also joined the rescue mission and helped in bringing the dog out. Their joint efforts ensured the dog’s safe rescue, without any injury.
The fire department also lauded the citizens for being so vigilant. “We would also like to thank the citizen who located the dog after it had been missing for several days and called it in,” read their post on Facebook.
“Your quick action helped lead to a successful rescue. This is a great example of teamwork between our emergency responders and the community to help those in need — even our four-legged friends,” the department concluded.
