Dog Reunited With Family After Being Missing for Two Years
Losing your pet, even for two minutes, gives the chills down the spine. Imagine the pain of the family who didn’t see their beloved pal for two years. The good news is just when almost everyone thought the case of the missing pet had gone cold, he was reunited with the family.

According to People, the Clark Township Police Department (CTPD) in a recent press release shared that on March 4, someone saw the missing dog, Koko, roaming around a shopping mall. The person reported the sighting to the police.

Thereafter, Nick Kurus, a CTPD patrolman, responded and brought Koko to the police. The authorities mentioned that the staff "successfully identified the number of a pet finder service. From there, Patrolman Kurus contacted the service and was able to retrieve a name and phone number for the last recorded owner of the dog.”

The next step in action was to call the owners, which Kurus did. The pet parents, who had lost their hopes, thought their dog was gone forever, and were in utter shock. The owners informed the police that their dog had been missing for two years from their hometown in Texas. Their reunion was soon arranged, and the pet parents flew to New Jersey to bring home their furry pal.

"Rather than being sent to a shelter, members of the Clark Police Department cared for the dog the next 3 days," read the press release from the department before adding, "During that time, Clark Police personnel bathed the dog, fed and provided treats, walked it regularly, and provided blankets and toys to keep her comfortable."

"Despite continuing their regular police duties, personnel made sure the dog was well cared for," mentioned the release.

As soon as Koko saw his pet mom, he went running to her. The pet parents "were extremely grateful for the care and compassion the Clark Police showed for her dog," police said.

It was a truly heartwarming moment for both the pet owners and the police department, who fell in love with Koko instantly.
